Converged Solutions Limited (CSL) were delighted to help company purchasing manager, Roger Pyne, raise much needed cash for the national charity, The Meningitis Trust, as he took part in this year’s Five Valleys Walk around the Cotswolds.

Roger and girlfriend Sally-Ann Miller, joined a group of eager charity walkers to take part in the twelve mile trip taking in some of the most beautiful Cotswold scenery, wearing stout boots and enjoying a beautiful day out. All money raised from the event will go to help support the many families affected by meningitis every year. Said Roger: “I’ve been actively supporting the Meningitis Trust since 1998, after catching meningitis myself whilst on a skiing trip to France.

“I had just landed when I began to feel really unwell, nearly collapsing, but thanks to the swift actions of the French medical staff meningitis was quickly identified, resulting in a weeklong stay in hospital, before thankfully being flown back home and on the road to recovery.”

Unaware of his severe predicament, Roger was treated immediately stabilising his condition and resulting in a full recovery over the ensuing weeks.

“Three weeks before my ski trip I was in Vietnam on holiday, catching as I initially thought malaria.” said Roger. “Meningitis wasn’t even a possibility in my mind and without the medical staff’s swift diagnosis, I might not be here today.”

CSL regularly support a number of local and national charities, with Roger and The Meningitis Trust always on the list. Said Roger: “It doesn’t matter what I plan to do, CSL and the team will always support me. They’re a great bunch.”
